Application of plate heat exchanger in refrigeration industry

 Plate heat exchanger is an efficient and compact heat exchanger, which is widely used in refrigeration system. It is an indispensable equipment in refrigeration system. It can be used as heat exchanger such as condenser, evaporator, regenerator and intermediate cooler. Compared with traditional shell-and-tube heat exchanger, its volume is only 1/3~1/6 of shell-and-tube type. The weight is only 1/2~1/5 of the shell-and-tube type, the refrigerant charge required is only 1/7 of the shell-and-tube type, and the heat transfer efficiency is 2-5 times higher than the shell-and-tube heat exchanger. It has the advantages of energy saving, economy, compact structure and easy disassembly. It has been widely used in the refrigeration industry, such as water chillers and air-cooled heat pump chillers. Heat transfer applications such as generator, condenser, heat recovery heat exchanger (superheater), liquid supercooler, and oil cooler of screw compressor.
   1. Basic requirements for plate heat exchangers for refrigeration equipment
(1) Plate heat exchanger used in refrigeration equipment should be selected for high pressure brazed plate heat exchanger specially produced for refrigeration industry because of its high side pressure (up to 25 bar) and strong permeability. (2) heat transfer coefficient is an important index to measure the heat transfer efficiency of heat exchangers. With the increase of energy requirement per unit volume of refrigeration unit, the heat transfer area per unit volume of plate heat exchanger used in refrigeration equipment is also increased correspondingly. Water-cooled and ethylene glycol-cooled units adopt compact stainless steel brazed plate heat exchangers in Colleges and universities. The heat transfer efficiency is much higher than that of shell-tube heat exchangers, but the structure ratio is only 1/10 of that of shell-tube condensers.
2. Plate heat exchanger used as evaporator is used as evaporator in air-cooled heat pump unit.
3. Plate heat exchanger used as condenser is used as evaporator in refrigeration cycle of heat pump unit. Plate heat exchanger is used as condenser in heat pump cycle.
4. The plate heat exchanger heat recovery unit for heat recovery unit uses condensation heat to heat tap water into domestic hot water, that is, process hot water, so as to take away the condensation heat generated by the refrigeration system, that is, to directly feed tap water to the heat recovery heat exchanger (also known as superheated cooler), and to use the compressor part of the discharge. The partial condensation latent heat of the sensible heat is heated, and the remaining exhaust heat is discharged from the condenser into the atmosphere. The plate heat exchanger used for heat recovery is installed between the condenser and the compressor.
